The report quotes HannStar Display vice president Chih-Hao Chou, who says that, "?panel prices are unlikely to stabilise in September because LCD makers in China?are still running at full capacity and are conducting pricing campaigns".
Furthermore, it was noted that although the overall panel production capacity in China is "no match as that in Taiwan, the China-based makers' pricing remains a factor that cannot be ignored".
Moreover, there seems to be growing concern amongst many downstream LCD players as consumers are getting more conservative with their spending, whilst at the same time waiting for prices to come down even further.
And even though cheaper panels should mean more sales for them, there is a feeling that many consumers are waiting for prices to come down even more, thus causing a slowdown in sales, according to the report.
