According to the company, its new Gold and Silver series of SDHC memory cards will provide high reliability and superior speed performance.

The Panasonic Gold SDHC card has adopted the new Class 10 speed specification standardised by the SD Card Association (part of SD Card Specification Ver.3.0), which means that it will have a maximum data transfer of 22 megabytes per second.

The Gold Series is designed for high-speed continuous shooting, allowing large amounts of data to be written continuously to the card until it is full. In addition to high-speed data capture, the new cards also allow for high-speed data transfer to a PC. It comes in 4, 8, 16, and 32 gigabytes.

The Panasonic Silver Series offers a maximum data transfer speed of up to 20MB/s and is available in 2, 4, 8, 12, and 16 gigabyte capacities.

Glenn Zanoni, Marketing, Mobile AV for Panasonic Australia said, "Panasonic's new GOLD and SILVER Series SD and SDHC cards offer the perfect solutions for capturing HD video, high frame rates and high quality continuous shooting."

The new GOLD and SILVER SD and SDHC models will be available mid-June, supporting Panasonic's ‘eco ideas' focus on environmental sustainability by featuring new packaging that uses 90% less plastic than previous SD Card products.
