Audio One Founder Passes Away Sadly

By Sarah Falson | Wednesday | 30/01/2008

It is with regret that SmartHouse News must announce the passing of a respected industry figure ? Julian Eade, founder of Audio One, passed away in his sleep last Friday after a 14-month battle with cancer.

Eade first entered the Australian audio industry in Canberra in the mid-1970s when he began work at Duratone Hi Fi. He then relocated to Sydney in the mid-1980s where he purchased Audio One in Neutral Bay.

"It is with great sorrow that we must announce that Julian Eade passed away. He slipped away peacefully in his sleep early in the morning having spent the evening with a couple of his best friend by his side," said a combined notice from Julian, Sandy and Fran of AVD Australia.

"A true gentleman of this industry ? he provided his clients with the highest level of service and shone as an example of what a specialist retailing service should be.

"Our industry is a great deal poorer now with his departure -- but all the richer for his many years of contributing to the industry.

"He will be greatly missed."

Eade closed Audio One 18 months ago but remained active within the industry providing his loyal clients with advice and personal service.
