Leading consumer electronic retailer JB HI FI who is the world's largest seller of Apple iTunes cards in the world is looking to expand their content offering online spanning gaming, music and movies.

The Company is already the largest seller of gaming music and movie content in Australia and move to expand their online content offering to include music, movie and gaming downloads is seen by many in the industry as a logical step for retailers say analysts.

Richard Uechtritz the CEO of JB HI FI said "we are not head in the sand people we sell a lot of content and we are always exploring new ways to market our products. We are also not adverse to new ideas. When Apple first launched iTunes we saw them as a competitor, we had a great relationship with Apple at the time and after various discussions we started selling the iTunes card and today we are the world's largest seller of Apple iTune cards in the world. We are prepared to work with and alongside vendors as new concepts are developed".

His comments were made 24 hours after leading US retailer Best Buy announced that they are set to launch a new Best Buy branded content service. Like JB HI FIN Best Buy is a retail leader in DVD sales however, the largest consumer electronics retailer in the U.S claims that the future of the movie rental business is in downloading not discs a comment which Uechtritz agrees with.

He added" Our main game right now is reaching our target of 210 stores. This will deliver us growth we are not wasting time fine tuning around the edges looking for growth. Our growth is coming from expansion. When we have achieved this we can look at other opportunities".

"We don't want to lose focus chasing small opportunities when our biggest opportunity is opening new doors. We will look at new ideas and content is one area where there is a lot of change taking place".
