Logitech Unveils VoIP Wireless Stereo Headset

By | Tuesday | 04/03/2008

Logitech has revealed the company?s first wireless stereo headset designed for VoIP calls. The new ClearChat PC Wireless uses 2.4 GHz wireless technology to make Internet calling via PC wire-free.

The headset, which was unveiled at the CeBit trade show in Germany, is expected to be available in Australia by the end of April. It allows users to move up to 10 metres from their desks, and connects to a PC or Mac via the included USB transmitter, the company says.

"More and more people are making voice calls over the Internet, but until now, they have had to choose between wired headsets that keep them tethered to their PCs or wireless headsets that offer poor audio and voice quality," said Gina Clark, general manager and vice president of Logitech's Internet Communications business unit.

"With the Logitech ClearChat PC Wireless headset, people can make a PC call while grabbing a snack, sitting on the couch or leaning back in their chair ? PC calling has never been so convenient and never sounded so good."

Logitech says the headset features an advanced algorithm that minimises interference and delivers rich, high-quality stereo audio through proprietary laser-tuned audio drivers. The headset is equipped with a noise-cancelling microphone and padded headband and ear pads.

RRP: $149.95
