Samsung Launches GPS Multimedia Phone

Say goodbye to roadmaps with the Samsung i560 with state-of-the-art GPS technology. The GPS navigation experience with the bonus Route 66 software includes turn-by-turn voice guidance and a navigation kit.

The i560 can capture those quality moments with the 3.0 Megapixel camera and features digital zoom, flash and a navigation menu identical to a digital camera.  Viewing the pictures is via a 2.4" QVGA display screen.

The phone uses 3.6Mbps HSDPA, allowing for document and file downloads at speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G and allows hands free access through Bluetooth via the wireless accessories. Network-wise, the phone can access GSM / GPRS / EDGE 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz UMTS 2100 MHz.

Other features include internal 150M Expandable Memory via a microSD card, Stereo MP3 Player, Multi-Format Music Support (MP3,AAC,AAC+, WMA), OMA DRM WMDRM/ Background Music Play, Video Recording and Messaging (MPEG4,H.263.

WMV), Voice Memo, Voice Mail, Voice Recording in Call, Flight (Offline) Mode and Speaker Phone.
The operating system is Symbian S60, 3rd Edition and it also uses Java MIDP 2.

The Samsung i560 is $0 on a $49 cap and is available from Optus and Vodafone.
