| Remote Screens As Big As A Telly At CEDIA

Philips have upped the ante in the universal remote market with the introduction of the 6.4 inch univeraasl remote that will sell for over $3000. And if you are looking for something a little niftier, RTI have rolled a hand-held 3.5 inch budget version at about half the price. The first is the pronto TSU 9800, a remote control and LCD touch screen combo, which features a 6.4 inch True VGA colour screen that uses 802.11g Wi-Fi, an RJ45 connection, bi-directional connectivity, compatible with SONOS, squeeze box and Clipsal C-Bus.
Two-way control is possible via IP, RS232, IR, Relay, built-in diagnostics and 64 Mb SDRAM & 64 Mb of NAND Flash. According to the distributor, Qualifi, the module can be used to control any device on an IP or Wireless network and will be available in October for about $3500.
The T3V Remote control and user interface from RTI Controls, also uses a colour LCD display (3.5 inches), true VGA resolution, Ethernet capability, web browser, 802.11g Wi-Fi, & Zigby compatible, able to talk to SONOS, Two-way control is possible via IP, RS232, IR and is compatible with both Dynalite & Clipsal.
