| Boardrooms Are Hot For the Pro AV Installer
By Staff Writers & Syndication | Sunday | 16/03/2008
The good old boardroom is changing and during the past few years it has become the domain of the pro AV industry as government and enterprise demand a mix of automation, display, sound , IT and communication systems. They want video conferencing and large screen displays with Companies like Melbourne based Westan a traditional IT distributor now selling full HD conference gear into the Pro AV market. Recently Australia's largest distributor Ingram Micro launched a new division aimed at being a key supplier into the Pro AV market. Even though some Pro AV boardroom projects occasionally require videoconferencing, speech reinforcement, and perhaps recording, most conference room integrations still fall on the lower end of the complexity spectrum, featuring computer display as the primary AV function. Nevertheless, high-end conference rooms have their place. Last year Westpac spent over $8 million dollars fitting out 26 boardrooms in the new Sydney HQ.
