An Air Con That Kills In New Samsung Appliance Arsenal

By David Richards | Wednesday | 30/04/2008

A new 700 litre fridge that is the same size as a 610 litre one, an air conditioning system that kills bugs and gives you a better night?s sleep to an oven that can be configured to cook top and bottom trays separately at the same time has been rolled out by Samsung in a major assault on the Australian appliance market.

They are also set to take on LG with a big front loading "air washing dryer combo" that cuts out having to send your clothes to the dry cleaner to be freshened up.

And if that is not enough they are also going to roll out a new range of refrigerators including one  that has four separate compartments each with their own controllable temperature settings.

The new range of Samsung appliance is all part of a major push by the Korean Company to expand their presence in the Australian Appliance market.

Mark Lea than the General Manager of White Goods for Samsung said "Our new range of appliances are really leading edge in not only design but they way that they work. They have been developed after extensive research for example with our new Space refrigerator we recognised that many people wanted to move to a larger refrigerator but were restricted by their kitchen design. Now they can do this with the new Samsung space model".

He added" With our new washing machines we have not only rolled out new model but new features like our air washing technology. This will save money for consumers by allowing them to freshen up clothes that they would normally take to the dry cleaner".

The move by Samsung is set to put pressure on several brands in the appliance market in particular brands like Fisher and Paykel and LG.

"We are serious about grabbing a major share of the appliance market and we believe that we can only do this by delivering break through products that are edgy in their design while being highly functional" said Leathan.
