Lipman began as Branch Manager in 1983, with a staff of four people and a turnover, after his first year, of some $600,000.  He leaves Miele with a staff of 42 and an anticipated $80 million in sales for this financial year.

"There certainly is a terrific sense of team spirit. I will miss that greatly as I will the great relationships I formed with our various Miele Chartered Agents.  All are down to earth, very focused on retail and have a good sense of humour," Lipman said.

As well as domestic sales, Miele Queensland has excelled in the commercial sector taking great advantage of the property and tourism boom. In fact, Miele says its success was established with the placement of its appliances in the prestigious Mirage developments at the Gold Coast and Port Douglas in the early 1990s.
