Dodgy Dimplex Heater To Be Recalled

By Mendelson Tiu | Thursday | 07/08/2008

Hagemeyer Brands Australia as Major Electrical Appliances (MEA) is voluntarily recalling several batches of heaters from the Dimplex Superheater range with the model numbers ROF24TI and ROF24ECC.

Affected Dimplex Superheaters have a batch number between 000 and 377, which is located on the rating label found on opposite end to the control panel, between the two large wheels.

MEA recently learned of the fault with a limited number of models and has issued this product recall as a precautionary measure as safety of customers is a primary concern.

Both of the Dimplex Superheaters are affected as they both potentially have the same component fault. This fault has the potential to result in overheating of the connections of the power terminal.

As with any fault in an electrical component, there may be a risk of fire. MEA recommends that customers who have purchased this model turn off the heater and disconnect if from the electricity supply immediately. If inspecting the heater to check the model number and batch code please ensure that the heater is cold and be aware that the heater can be heavy.

Dimplex Superheater ROF24TI and ROF24ECC models are sold nationally through all major consumer electronics retailers since March 2006. Retailers have been made aware of the fault, and the recall.

However, we recommend that all customers who own an ROF24TI or ROF24ECC Dimplex Superheater should go to the website www.hageme yer.com.au/dimplexrecall or call the toll-free hotline on 1800 224 026.
