Another Senior Executive Quits Harvey Norman

Nigel Dent the General Manager of Entertainment is believed to have been walked to the door after advising senior Harvey Norman management that he was quitting the mass retailer. 

Dent joins a long list of senior executives who have quit the mass retailer during the past 18 months.

12 months ago Ben McIntosh Quit as General Manager of Entertainment to take up a role as General Manager of Sales at Vodafone.

Shortly after McIntosh joined Vodafone a deal was struck to open a network of Vodafone stores inside Dick Smith stores. 

Both McIntosh and Dent reported to David Ackery.

Prior to being promoted to GM Entertainment at Harvey Norman Dent was audio visual product and marketing manager.

Harvey Norman has not commented on who will replace McIntosh.

Speculation has it that Dent is set to join another major retailer. 

Other executives who have chosen to quit the mass retailer include Rod Orrock the former General Manager of the Harvey Norman owned retailer Domayne.

He quit the mass retailer to take up a senior role at Dick Smith recently Orrock hired a former Harvey Norman executive who is currently working with an International distributors who supplies Harvey Norman in the entertainment and appliance categories. 

Orrock is believed to heir apparent to the current CEO of Dick Smith, Nick Aboud.

Earlier this year the former CEO of Sony Carl Rose quite a contract with the mass retailer. His job at the time was to restructure Harvey Norman TV distribution and buying.
